Yes. In fact our network, servers, connectivity and people all reside inside Oklahoma, we are Oklahoma Owned and Operated!
Why do you charge so little for memberships?
Quite simply because we hope to spur the growth of small to medium sized business. Traditional advertising is VERY expensive, not very effective and only available to a small fraction of businesses. The saying you have to spend money to make money has never been more accurate. To be relevent in the marketplace, businesses must spend tens of thousands of dollars each and every month to reach new customers through traditional advertising. However with MadeInOklahoma.com, your simple membership places you side by side with even the largest of companies.
Why do you pay 50% for commissions?
We want kids to play in sports! A recent survey showed that the largest reason children do not play sports is due to the high costs associated with being on a team. We believe that participating in competitive sports helps children become more active and live healthier lifestyles. Sports can help reduce the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Sports have also shown to help children develop leadership skills, helps aide in communication and problem solving they will use for the rest of their lives.
What if a company doesn't use my DISCOUNT CODE at signup?
Without using your code, the new member company doesn't receive their 25% discount nor do you receive any credit for the activation. If a company is ready to signup, it is advisable to help them through the signup process. If the company isn't ready to signup then be sure to leave them your fundraising flyer with your discount code and phone number on it just in case they have any questions. You may also want to follow up with the company in a few days after giving them time to think about becoming a member and again remind them to use your DISCOUNT CODE at signup.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. All credit card transactions are processed through PayPal, however the member business does not need to have a PayPal account.
May I accept payment in person if a business wants to pay cash or check?
No, you cannot accept payment in person. Our billing and automation system is fully automated and can only process digital payments. If a customer wants to pay by other means please have them contact our office toll free at (855) BUY-OKLA and we may offer them alternative means of payment.
What defines Locally Owned and Operated?
Any business with at least 51% Oklahoma ownership qualifies. This also means that any major franchise, like a McDonalds or Chick-Fil-A for example, can be a member company as long as they are 51% owned and operated by an Oklahoman. Our memberships use the honor system, so we do not verify each and every membership. If however, a complaint is lodged against a member, we will research and if deemed in violation we will revoke the offending membership and they forfeit all fees collected..
